Joanne Carl joined the faculty at MC-Rockville in August 2002 as a Professor in the Communication Arts Technologies department, specializing in field production, nonlinear video editing and studio production fundamentals. Prof. Carl is now the Coordinator for Radio, TV & Digital Media. She is a fulltime instructor who also handles student support, personnel, equipment upgrades and budgeting for the TVRA program. Joanne began her career in film, working to create field-produced programs for PBS, then changed to broadcast production where she directed local newscasts at W*USA. Later at WDCA/UPN20 she was Production Manager and special projects editor. In the new millennium Joanne migrated into the field of education, starting in the Distance Learning Unit of the FBI Training Academy as producer/editor and then joining Montgomery College.
