About the Film

Arian loves kites but a changing Afghanistan stands in his way. When the Taliban take power and ban kite flying, He all but gives upon his passion. However, to give his daughter Seem a sense of childhood that the once had, Arian risks his life to find and fly kites.

Tarique Qayumi was born in Afghanistan and came to Canada as a refugee in 1983. He attended undergrad at the school of creative writing at the University of British Columbia and graduate school at UCLA, where he completed his Screenwriting MFA and developed a strong interest in directing. After graduating in 2010, Qayumi was approached by TOLO TV, the largest television station in Afghanistan, to direct a docudrama series. Driven by two objectives, to get in touch with his roots and to create Afghan-centered stories, Qayumi made the difficult decision to return to Afghanistan. While in Afghanistan from 2011 to 2015 he wrote, directed and produced “Truth Unveiled”, a sixteen part half-hour docudrama series; “Defenders”, a six-hour drama miniseries; as well as Afghan version of “Sesame Street”, season two and three. During this time, he also directed his first feature “Targeting” in Los Angeles, a psychological-thriller about a female American soldier who returns home from war. Upon returning to Vancouver, Tarique was one of five chosen from across Canada for the NSI Corus Diverse TV Directing Program.

Vick Krishna is self-taught filmmaker, editor. He is also a Meisner trained actor currently in New York. At a young age in Maryland, he started making videos with a camcorder and knew then that he wanted to do this for the rest of his life. In order to please his parents, he went to India to get a degree in Computer Science for three years dedicated to pursue his dreams in film when he returned. He continues this journey making his own films and acting in the indie world of this art.

About the Film

Millions of fake Facebook profiles are made every day to harass and troll but for once it was made to make a 72yr old dying man happy. Virendra Saxena from Delhi is suffering from leukemia and is given ultimatum by Doctors that his days are numbered. Before the old man goes on his last journey he wants to meet his first love whom he met 50yrs ago. But when his grandson Madhav traces the woman to Mumbai and she finds difficult to recollect the old days, Madhav comes up with plan B. The entire saxena family conspires to fulfill the unrequited love of an old man.

My first feature film, ‘T for Tajmahal’ was selected for NFDC screenwriters Lab for Toronto Film festival. Now it has been bought by Sony pictures and stated for release early next year. I have also written another International feature for UK based Director. Ravi Kumar( Bhopal : A prayer for Rain ). Also runs a digital channel by the name of ‘Bhartiya Janta Comedy’.
